PEACE ON EARTH!
Based on Amos 1-3, Revelation 6
"Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;" Amos 2:6
Just as people need the joy of Jesus, which is greater than any gift (silver, gold, or a pair of shoes as the Scripture states!), people also need peace! And sometimes the material things of this life clutter, cloud & crowd out the peace we truly desire (not only at Christmastime, but year-round!). We need joy right now. We need peace right now. We need it more than we ever have before...
"For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces." Amos 3:10
What plans have we got stored up? Some people plan to be violent, rob or riot in order to make sense of their lives, or they do it in the name of, oddly enough, PEACE! But how can one side's anger bring peace to both sides? It's not about winning. It's not about getting even. It's about finding ourselves in Jesus! He is true JOY! He is true PEACE! His pattern & plan suits every soul!
"And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword." Revelation 6:4
We haven't seen the worst yet...but we haven't seen the best yet, either! The question is, how do we get there? The only answer? JESUS!
