Pillar Prayers of Promise
Bible Reading 1/22: Genesis 30-31
Genesis 31:13 I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.
Sometimes, we think the words we say don't matter, or have little affect on others. Turns out, God takes all that into account! Especially the words we speak in prayer to Him! God counts our promises to Him as significant, just as we rely on Him to fulfill what He has promised to us! Jacob set a pillar up on his journey a few chapters back in order to create his own "landmark memory" between him & God. He vowed a vow to God there as well. Jacob may have left that place & moved on. He may have forgotten the significance of that place...but God did not! God used it as a reminder to stick with His Master plan! It was now time for Jacob to return to the land of his kindred. Did we leave God behind somewhere? Do we have a pillar prayer of promise that we need to return to? Let's allow God to plant us back on track in Jesus' Name!
