Reading of the Day: Genesis 1-3

Genesis 1:11:

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Hello 2025! It seemed like "once upon a time" since I have written anything, but this year, I have decided that I truly desire to have this outlet back in my life. While each year the mountain of creating a blog post seems harder & harder to climb (because we take more and more new additions to the family up the mountain on each trek!), I think it is time to just start putting in the extra effort to make it happen again. As long as I am able to find a balance, then I am excited to go forward this year and start up these daily devotionals after a time of self-evaluation and silence. These posts help give me a well-rounded look at my daily Bible reading, and help me to be sure I stay on track, grow closer to Jesus & read the Bible through in a year. I am praying that God help me to balance it all this year, but honestly, if I have this time with The Lord, then I know everything else will fall into place & balance out. This is a mindset I should have kept up, but I am thankful for The Lord's mercy, patience & love all along the way. I pray that this blesses you as the reader right now, wherever you are at. I have nothing to teach, just a whole lot on my heart to share. Let's read His precious Scriptures & grow in The Lord together in Jesus' Name.

The focus Scripture which caught my attention today was Genesis 1:11. It discusses how God purposefully created the fruits & plants with all the seeds they need to one day grow, fall, and take root elsewhere, allowing the cycle to continue on seasonally year after year. I find it amazing that one plant has so much pent-up potential, and one tiny seed could make it happen. One invisible Word of God designed a visible universe we are able to behold today. God, purposefully and powerfully, created a world of potential...even in the smallest seed! And, He never created that potential to go to waste! He created purposeful potential to be utilized on purpose-but not just by the plants. He desires and has designed His people to do the same! He created each one of us with so much potential and purpose that is to be planted & make a difference some way, somehow. Let us pray into 2025 intentionally seeking out direction for our lives, bringing the potential He has given us to life!
