Preparation

Gina Pietrzak

Based on 1 Chronicles 22-24, Psalm 123

We never know what tomorrow is going to bring, or quite honestly, if tomorrow will even come...that's why it's important to be prepared, and prepare the way for our children's future, to be sure they will be secure. The best we can do is rely on God! He will provide so we can prepare!

"3: And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;
4: Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
5: And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death." 1 Chronicles 22:3-5.

The word I kept seeing today is "preparation." I love how David saw the young, tender age of his son Solomon at the time, but he also saw the greater purpose he was meant to fulfill of building the house of The Lord! So of course, David went above & beyond in gathering the materials so Solomon could one day complete the project. Do we look at our children beyond their natural age? Are we prepared for them to succeed us & do things that are bigger than they are right now? And how about their spiritual purpose?

These are tough questions, but the best thing we can do is keep the future in mind. Keep eternity in mind. Pray for God's guidance & provision. Our children have amazing purposes ahead of them! I pray God help us to prepare them for it!

"9: Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
10: He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever." 1 Chronicles 22:9-10.

God said it, so it would happen! David lived like his son was already on the throne. This house was more than a place. It was a purpose! It stood for God first & foremost, but also to show that through the obedience and completion of this task, God would establish the throne of Solomon's kingdom forever.

"30: And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even:" 1 Chronicles 23:30.

God is in control! We can rely on Him, and in doing so, we are being responsible in preparing our children for their future. This way, we can truly stand every morning & evening, as the Scripture states, to thank & praise The Lord! Even if we are unsure of what the next step is, praise & thank Him anyway! You'll have more joy & rest as you continue going forward on the journey of life with your children. It's ok not to know yet. God will bring that to pass in time. The important thing is to prepare as best you can-because all people have purpose!

We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know Who holds tomorrow!

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
