Preservation
Based on 2 Samuel 7-9, Psalm 59
"And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever."
2 Samuel 7:12-13.
God not only had a plan for David, but for the generations which would come from David. Although Nathan the prophet told David he could build the house he wanted to build for The Lord, God actually had another plan! God would use David's son to do this work of building a house dedicated to Him. "...and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever." God would preserve David through the work of his children.
"And now, O Lord God, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant: Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever."
2 Samuel 7:28-29
David was in agreement with what God wanted. He had no bitterness...he just wanted his house to be blessed & continue for ever. He wanted God's blessing upon all he did, and all his children would do! That goodness was promised to David! We must have this same desire-for our faith to pass on to the next generation! For a people of God to continue to be preserved forever! Our children can't live off of our relationship with God, but they can learn from our example. We need to set the pace!
"Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went."
2 Samuel 8:6
"And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went. And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people." 2 Samuel 8:14-15
The Lord preserved David wherever he went! How awesome to always be preserved and protected by God! Worry & fear fall away when we stand firmly on The Lord's side!
"And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"
2 Samuel 9:1
David also continued to think of his promise to Saul, in preserving the seed of his family as well. He went to find any left of his household, to show kindness to them. Wow! Kings did so much and fought so many battles, yet king David went out of his way and made it his mission, just to show kindness. He had a preservation mindset, just like God had toward him!
"Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant! And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually." 2 Samuel 9:6-7
David not only restored Mephibosheth, but he let him sit at his table! Just like Jesus went among the lame, healed them and treated them with the same respect as anyone else, David also did not hold back from letting him sit at the king's table! Saul's household would be preserved, and so would David's! Jesus would also come from the bloodline of David! We always have to remember-God has plans beyond us! We have to remember to train up our children in The Lord, and preserve our promises for years to come!
"But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy." Psalms 59:16-17
Our Defence. Our Refuge. Our Preserver!! That's our God!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle
Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
