Preserved & Protected

Based on 1 Chronicles 16-18, John 7:28-53

"He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. Be ye mindful always of his covenant; The word which he commanded to a thousand generations; Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, And of his oath unto Isaac; And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, And to Israel for an everlasting covenant," 1 Chronicles 16:14‭-‬17

David truly had some beautiful Psalms, and this one was actually found in 1 Chronicles chapter 16! Instead of just talking & speaking a reminder to the people to follow God & keep His commandments, David expresses this reminder through song. He reminds them of the covenant, oath & confirmation of it all through Abraham, Isaac & Jacob. He emphasizes that it's an everlasting covenant, so the people can rest in knowing that God will preserve & protect His people always! We just need to choose to stay under that umbrella shield of protection by following His commandments! David lovingly followed God...it wasn't a chore to him. We must do the same! There's so much beauty in following Jesus!

"Then David put garrisons in Syria-damascus; and the Syrians became David's servants, and brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went." 1 Chronicles 18:6

In questionable times, when David either looked like he was gaining an enemy or being conquered by one, God had a way of preserving him & keeping him safe through the whole process-because David kept his faithfulness to God!

"Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand. And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went."

1 Chronicles 18:12‭-‬13

God can bring a soldier down to a servant in an instant...but if we willingly become servants to The Lord, He will raise us up, preserve us & protect us as victorious soldiers for His Kingdom! And that's exactly what David experienced! Don't worry about trying to make it up the status ladder...there is so much room to slip & fall...just stand firm in God, and He will bring you through amazing things, preserving & protecting all along the way!

"In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." John 7:37‭-‬38

The ultimate preservation & protection of our soul is God's Spirit within us! When we receive Him, we are directly led by God in a way we have never been able to before! For salvation & celebration of who God is, we need to receive His Spirit with evidence of speaking in new tongues! A new way of thinking & speaking is what we need to fall more closely in love with Jesus! Praise Him for His preservation & protection!
