Press Through the Plunge
Based on Ezekiel 18-19, James 4
"And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground. And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation." Ezekiel 19:13-14
Dry. Thirsty. Spent. Fruitless. No drive or motivation left...we sing this song, or lamentation, more often as Moms than we'd like to admit. Right now especially I'm feeling this, and "God help me & strengthen me" has been my #1 prayer lately! We love our children, as God loves us, and He sees us at our emptiest & weakest. This simple prayer has gotten me through so much, and I know it can help anyone who feels out of breath & out of hope. This prayer can also be a base to expand your prayer time into something greater & more meaningful, as you start to feel that joy & motivation restored!
"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." James 4:10
If we really hold to our time of prayer, and humble ourselves, admitting we need every moment we can savour, the Jesus will lift us up! Through prayer, He will help us press through the plunge! He will help us dig out of our downward spiral! More of God=best version of ourselves!
