Project to Eternity

Based on 1 Kings 6-7, Luke 20:27-47

Is it easy to lose motivation to complete a project? Are many things in life left undone because of burn-out? I've stared at the laundry & dishes and thought this same exact thing (far too often!). But one reason why we should be able to keep going is reminding ourselves why we started, why we do what we do! No matter how small or great the task, we need to do all we do as unto The Lord! ..."and whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;" Colossians 3:23. That's where the fire & passion get flowing again!

We work projects in this life, but really, we are projecting toward a greater life-eternity!!

"And for the house he made windows of narrow lights. And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about: the nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house."
1 Kings 6:4‭-‬6.

When our purpose is to build a project to please The Lord, it will reach a magnitude of magnificence! In this life, when we are passionate toward Jesus, every work we must complete can be more than just work...it can be a work of art! And that's because we never lose heart! Solomon was determined to pour out his best to God in creating a temple as a special place for His presence to reside. To the highest pillar or smallest cubit, he strove for perfection. He hired the best builders. He treated them well. He wanted people who respected the work, and who understood the respect needed for The Lord.

As our Youth Leader Karolina Stus always says, "It's only a show unless God shows up!" If we are just here to do our jobs, live a flashy life & die without any sense of eternity, then our hearts will not be complete, or be able to complete the project to eternity! We will be burnt out-literally!

"Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation."
Luke 20:46‭-‬47.

If we forget God in the process, we won't ever be able to do our best work or live our best life! That's because we are not projecting out far enough! Remember as it says in The Lord's prayer in Matthew, "In earth as it is in Heaven!" Let's be passionate for The Lord in the work we do here. Ask for His strength & His help to do our best, with a right heart & Spirit. Then, that same passion will translate & project toward eternity with Jesus!!
