RELATIONSHIPS ARE A PROCESS!
"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18. Our church. Our friendships. Our spouses. Our children. They all take time to build relationships with!!
They always say Rome wasn't built in a day. Honestly, I'm sure it could have been if the Romans lowered their standards. It's ok to have high standards. In fact, it's better! Just make sure you have the patience, persistence & peace in the process! And look at the second part of that Scripture: "the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." That can only happen when the building is strong...and that takes TIME!
"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" Psalm 33:1. It's like children getting adjusted to new siblings. Over time, it's as if each member of the family had been there from the start. There is just one more person to love!
It's also like the 3 little pigs: the strongest house may take the longest, but it will last! And that's ok, because we are aiming for eternity anyway, and that's a forever thing! Let's give our relationships the time they need to grow, mature & become strong! Let's be patient with our children, our spouses & every relationship we enter into. It's ok to take time! Just remember to pray through the process...Rome wasn't built in a day!
