Requested Regression
Reading of the Day: Psalms 105-107
Psalm 106:15: And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
God is a good, gracious God. He wants us to have our desires...even if that means we might be led away from Him. That may seem strange, but it's true...every step we take is allowed by God, but not every step is His will for our lives. We can easily blame God when we get into a bad spot, or we can easily give Him credit for a situation we think is His will for our lives, but it's really not. We cannot forget about our free will, and how we have to pray and seek God in order to align our will with His. The Israelites, for example, constantly complained, making known their wants & needs to Moses so he could pray to God for them. God was angered that His people always complained, never realizing how blessed and favored they truly were. God gave them all their requests, but their souls were lean as this Scripture says. They had been provided for and nourished physically, but their souls were malnourished spiritually. This can be the case for us too! Things can look like they are going well on the outside, but we have to be prayerful and aware, seeking God's peace every step of the way. If we have to constantly second-guess what we are doing, who we are involved with, or we try to suppress feelings of conviction concerning certain decisions we are making, then that is not peace and probably not God's will. I do be careful saying this, as I am not trying to tell everyone what God's will is for each individual...but these are just some general guidelines I've learned that at least get me going in the right direction. Let's make sure we don't trade God's will for a small request. Let's make sure our soul is nourished & is priority! Even if we have to minimize some temporary requests or desires, the eternal benefits for the soul are well worth it! Let's not request our own regression, let's petition our own progression by leaning on The Lord, avoiding leanness of the soul!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle
Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
