ROAD TO PENTECOST: DAY 1!
Bible Reading Today: Psalms 95, 97-99
The LORD hath made known his salvation: His righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen. Psalm 98:2
I am doing a series this week called ROAD TO PENTECOST, because Pentecost Sunday is THIS COMING SUNDAY, 5/28 at 10:30AM! My goal & focus in this series is to show how The Lord's plan of salvation is present in most of our Bible reading & is essential for us to enter Heaven!
Pentecost Sunday is special because we celebrate the first day God's Spirit was poured out in the upper room in Jerusalem. 120 people were gathered & praying, including Jesus' disciples and His mother Mary. All of a sudden, all those gathered there began speaking in new tongues, languages that were foreign to those speaking, but understandable to those around them. It was the clear sign that they had received God's Spirit, The Holy Ghost, our God Jesus HIMSELF ALONE, in their hearts! Jesus recognizes us by His Spirit, and will only recognize us as His own by His Spirit when we meet Him in Heaven one day. As this Scripture in Psalms points out: God openly makes known His salvation to us! There are 3 Keys to Salvation: Repentance, Baptism in Jesus' Name & receiving the Holy Ghost! Come join us on Pentecost Sunday and experience it for yourself! The Holy Ghost is for EVERYONE! "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38
