Seek God, Find Life

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Amos 4-6

"For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:" Amos 5:4.

Are you searching for meaning? Are you searching for purpose? Do you seek a full, abundant life? Look to The Lord! He gives life, and HE IS LIFE. When we don't have Him, we are left wandering with no life support...we become disconnected from the very breath of His Spirit...without Jesus, there is nothing worth our investment on earth or in eternity! In the book of Amos, this was the exact cry to Israel: "Seek ye me, and ye shall live."

"But seek not Beth–el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer–sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth–el shall come to nought." Amos 5:5.

If we don't choose Jesus, it's either captivity, or nought. We will be slaves to some mindset, system or idol, or we will just be empty & have nothing (probably both). Jesus is our all in all! When we go with God, we are not left wanting more of anything! He is our sustenance, and He is our life!

"Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph."
Amos 5:14‭-‬15.

We receive God's grace & favor when we go after what's good & right. When we pursue God with our entire being. When we surrender our lives to Him, we find out what life is really meant to be:

"He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it."
Matthew 10:39.

I don't know what you're looking for. I don't know what you need. But God does, and He is, all we need! "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." Ephesians 3:20‭-‬21.

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
