Reading of the Day 4/9/25: 1 Kings 4-6

1 Kings 5:5: And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.

In these chapters, the house of The Lord which started as a seed planted in the heart of David is finally being watered & manifested through David's son, king Solomon. In the beginning of these chapters, we are reminded of how David fought in many wars, and for that reason of much bloodshed, he would not be able to build the house of God he so desired...that job would be passed down to his son Solomon. There was now peace all around, so Solomon would not have to worry about shedding blood in war as David did. So, even before the physical foundation was laid for this house which Solomon was to build, there was a Spiritual foundation already set in stone! David's sacrifices and dedication to The Lord lived on so that his son could have the peace in the kingdom of Israel to begin to build this beautiful house for God! David was not only a great king, but a great father, becaused he paved the way for his son to be able to do greater things! David may not have gotten to be the one physically paving an entryway, or building a door or a pillar...but he got to pave the way in spirit, making this project possible through his son: 1 Kings 5:17: "And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house." The stones were first layed in spirit, then manifested as these great, costly hewed stones were brought forth as a foundation! This is exactly what we need to be like as parents. The seeds we sow in prayer, in teaching, and in loving our children will bear fruit! It may not look like much from day to day, but year to year, something will be manifested! A strong relationship with God will begin to build! Great things will be set in stone in their lives once they first are set in stone in their hearts!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
