Set to Seek

Gina Pietrzak

Reading of the Day 5/6/25: 2 Chronicles 9-11

2 Chronicles 11:16: And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the LORD God of their fathers.

One thing that's true of our world today is that there is a lot of noise. A lot to see. And sometimes, it can be too much. There's always another voice, another opinion, another comparison we could make. We can view what's happening across the world in real time...something which would have been unheard of back in Bible times, unless someone was given a vision from God...and that's what's sometimes so scary! Many people do not turn to God because of the overwhelming sense of "knowing it all" or, in more accurate terms, "knowing too much." Now of course we know, we can never know more than God...but in a dangerous way, we can know enough to keep us from Him. In this above Scripture, Israel was splitting kingdoms between Rehoboam (Solomon's son) & Jeroboam. 2 tribes followed Rehoboam & the rest went after Jeroboam. Neither of them were the greatest candidates (although Rehoboam was definitely a better choice), but the ones who went after Solomon's son tried to keep the right heart as they chose to follow him. Amidst all the noise, chaos & confusion that must have been taking place as the kingdoms split, they tried to set their hearts to seek The Lord! They were intentional! They wanted to do what was right, even though idol worship was present all around them & their leadership was not purposing themselves to walk righteously with God! We also need to set our hearts to seek Him! It is so easy to get carried away scrolling through information nowadays...seemingly without even trying! How much more could we do if we were intentional-especially for God? Setting our hearts up for success means putting God first! It means using His Word as our tool kit to equip us to see Truth in a confused world, and our Tour Guide to get us all the way to Heaven! We may stumble upon random information by accident, but we cannot accidentally have a relationship with God! We need to set our hearts to seek Him while He may be found!

Isaiah 55:6-7: "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
