SHINE THROUGH

SHINE THROUGH

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." John 8:12. Why do we make overcoming an option? I realize I sometimes drag myself through the day, and then I look at my poor old self in the mirror and wonder why I allowed that. Yes, life tends to give you more lemons than roses, but gold shines when it's refined! I sometimes don't allow life's lemons to refine me so I can shine through...

Instead of being a problem-solver and light-shiner, we are problem-carriers and light-drowners. We don't get through anything. We just pack it all up into our sympathy sacks and carry it with us...and our lights are somewhere buried deep in the bag under it all.

"Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house." Matthew 5:15.

God didn't have to create us to be more durable to withstand life's lemons being thrown at us. HE ALREADY HAS THE STRENGTH WE NEED! HE IS THE LIGHT! We do not create our own solutions, or our own light. That source is God alone. With Jesus shining in, we will shine through. Through every dark hour, lonely night & troubling circumstance.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16.

That light is not only for us. It's for every other person (especially tired Mama!) who looks at herself in the mirror the same way. They need to see you shine! That light means hope & help! With a little more light, we will probably have less dark bags under our eyes and more motivation to carry on (without the sympathy sacks). All we need is THE LIGHT.

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
