Stature of Heart
Bible Reading 4/12: 1 Samuel 15-17
Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
It is easy to admire someone for what we see...beauty, ability, strength, etc...we sometimes make assumptions based on those outer things that they are amazing people. That's not to say they don't have a great personality, but just because the outside looks good, that doesn't mean the heart matches or measures up! When getting to know someone, we go beneath the layers of the surface & find out who they are through meaningful conversation. The amazing thing is, God already knows us down to the deepest level-the heart! And we want to make sure the stature of our heart is one to be admired! Do we have a Christ-like character? Let's strive for it everyday!
