Strength in Suffering

Based on 2 Corinthians 11-13

"Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong." 2 Corinthians 12:10

There are so many reasons why Paul was a strong man, and it wasn't because he didn't have his weak moments & times of suffering...it was because he knew where to find his strength in the midst of all that! One of our most recent Ladies Zoom Fellowship Meetings was about how even when we are going through it, and there's no solution in sight, God is the strength in the season of suffering.

"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." 2 Corinthians 11:3

There is simplicity in Christ! Never forget that! As we march through these complicated times in uncharted territory, remember that God is our strength! Don't be fooled by the negativity, lies & fears of the devil! Pray for strength in suffering-and remind someone else to do that too!

"Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;"
2 Corinthians 11:25

How on earth did he have the strength to go on!? Well truthfully, he had power on earth by not relying on what was IN earth, but the strength that is IN God alone! Somehow, there's a peace and a joy we can experience at the worst times-just by knowing Jesus! If there's a time we need that, it's now!

...And that doesn't mean God wants us to suffer. But, He does want us to see what His power can do!

"Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches." 2 Corinthians 11:28

Beside those experiences, he also had the great responsibility of caring for many churches which he started up. Physically, he must have been tired. Emotionally, he must have been tired. But spiritually, he was strong in Jesus!

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

No one may be able to see God's strength if they can't see our suffering. It builds our testimony & witness. Many people are in urgent need of strength right now-beyond strength, everyone is in need of Jesus! Not only does He give strength, but peace and joy too!

"Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you." 2 Corinthians 13:11
