Surrounded? Surrender!

Based on 2 Chronicles 13-15

"And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets. Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah."
2 Chronicles 13:14‭-‬15.

Most of the time, it seems like while we are facing something, we can feel another problem looming about & coming up behind us. Maybe even to the right & left. We just feel surrounded by a sea of endless demands & stress...

But there is one solution, no matter what the problem is! When you're surrounded, surrender to God!

"Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers." 2 Chronicles 13:18.

Judah & Israel were once combined, but then became divided kingdoms. They both had a relationship with God, yet sometimes, one relied upon God and one did not. In this case, Judah prevailed because they relied on God...but in EVERY case, the one who sticks with GOD WINS!

"So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years. And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God: For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:"
2 Chronicles 14:1‭-‬3.

The land was quiet 10 years! The idols were destroyed! Peace was in that place because they chose to stay on The Lord's side. In giving up & surrounding things which displease God, we can live a peaceful life which pleases God, and we are protected from anything that can try to surround us! BE SURROUNDED BY GOD'S PRESENCE INSTEAD!

"Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the Lord our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered." 2 Chronicles 14:7.

There is rest on EVERY side when we surrender to God!

Here's one prayer we can pray in surrender to God when we are entering another problem situation:

"And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord , thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee." 2 Chronicles 14:11.

Eventually, there was war after some years of quiet. And that's exactly what happens with us! Peaceful time don't last, but neither do problems...and we have more peace even in our problems when we surrender to God!

Surrounded? SURRENDER!
