Tabitha, Arise!
Bible Reading 11/13: Acts 9-10
Acts 9:40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
While we might be content with our devotion to God, there may be a part which secretly lays dormant, waiting to be brought to life! In this Scripture, Peter prays for this woman named Tabitha who rises from the dead. One interesting fact about her is that she believed. She was a disciple following Jesus already. However, God still had more for her to do! He was not done with her yet! There was still more to her ministry...so, praying in the power of The Spirit, Peter was able to position himself so God's power could miraculously work through him bring her back to life! Those gathered round could have easily said she lived a good life. She did a lot for The Lord. She can rest in peace now. But no! Her Spiritual purpose & plan was not yet complete. What is our Tabitha? Can we go more in depth into an area we are already serving in? Or, is there something new entirely that God is calling us to do? Also, how do we find out? Well...we simply need to pray as Peter did! We need to allow God to work through us as we pray for His direction...and then our Tabitha will arise!
