Taken with the Wind

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Hosea 12-14, Revelation 4

"Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt." Hosea 12:1

It's been super blustery and windy lately! There have also been tornados in other states with intense levels of wind! But can wind be trusted? Can it lead us anywhere? Does it have any direction, or does wind lead us down a winding path? Honestly, to me, it seems to have a mind of its own!

"Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney." Hosea 13:3

Do we want to be so off-set and so un-grounded that we become driven away with the whirlwinds of life? The "winds" of life and the "winds" of the cities (which are more than just the wind outdoors, but also the words of politicians and other influencers!) tend to drive us to & fro...and soon, we don't know where to go! Thankfully, God's Word is a Word of Life, Hope & Direction! We can trust Him. We can be grounded in Him. He doesn't change to only please certain people. He is always the same, and loves each & every one of us!

"Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me."

Hosea 13:4

Everyone else may leave us winded, exhausted, not knowing where to turn next...but God's Word gives us new life & energy to keep going!

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." Revelation 4:11

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
