Telling Ourselves the Truth
Based on Daniel 8-10, 3 John
"O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name." Daniel 9:19
Daniel was always quick to humble himself before God. He seemed bold & fearless in the face of his enemies when he went into the lion's den, but that's because he had this immense sense of humility before God. He lived on every Word God spoke to him. He was strengthened physically by a supernatural encounter with God! He held to God's Word as Truth. When we hold The Word in our hands, are we holding it in our hearts? Do we tell ourselves The Truth, or believe lies that take away our strength?
"Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words."
Daniel 10:12
Daniel was also quick to chasten himself before God. He admitted his faults, and in humility confessed his weaknesses as a part of humanity...knowing God is greater than us all...do we quickly admit when we are wrong & repent, or is it hard to break down & bring ourselves down to that level? Do we build up a story that makes us look better (which may not be the Truth)? I know this is a difficult one, but I pray I'd be more quick to tell myself the Truth & admit my faults!
"We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth."
3 John 1:8
We are all fellowhelpers of The Truth! Each one of us is accountable to God & His Word; no one person is better than another. This should be an encouragement to us!
"Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God." 3 John 1:11
We need to keep doing the good work of telling the Truth-to others and to ourselves-in a loving way! We can't be too prideful to accept it for what it is. As hard as accepting The Truth may be, we just have to understand that God's plan ultimately works for our good!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle

It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
