Thankfulness

Thankfulness

“Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.” Psalm 95:2

Now this sounds easy to do when things are going well. When we’ve gone most the day with minimum spillage and only a handful of crying. When we’ve made it to bedtime without a huge mess to face. Yes, that’s thankfulness. But will that thankfulness sustain through the next big break-down? Not quite.

Sometimes, we spend so much time focusing on how stressed we are, that we forget how blessed we are! Our families are our greatest blessings, but usually the cause of our greatest stress as well. And that’s not because we are angry with them, but we want to just “get it right.” We want to come out of every conflict unscathed and unphased and be able to move right into the kitchen to make dinner singing a joyful tune as if nothing ever happened. That’s just not the case.

“For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:” 1 Timothy 4:4. Every creature, every person God has created, should be received with thanksgiving (and that doesn’t mean ONLY on November 28th!). Although this time of year reminds us to be thankful, we need to keep a thankful attitude all the time. As Sister Sagil says, you never know what our trials are trying to teach us! But remember, you are not meant to do this alone!

Your family may struggle at times, but remember, they are your support system. Our church family is your support system. This Moms Group is meant to be a support system. But one last thing: GOD HAS YOUR BACK THE MOST!

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17. God is a giver at all times, and He gives best! As our Pastor says, you can’t out-give God! Let’s be thankful for what we have, and let’s remember to be just as good at giving as we are of receiving!

“I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35

Today, I am thankful to be a Mom among Moms. I thank you for journeying with me. I would like to give you all the answers, but I don’t have them. But I do have helpful resources I can offer you and a church family that loves you.

“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Let’s aim to be supportive, social, and spiritual. I am excited for our Moms Group future!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
