The Big Take-Away
Bible Reading Today: Numbers 33-34
Numbers 33:55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.
God has some new things He wants to fill our lives with...but how can we be sure? Is He really wanting to be active in our lives today? For proof, we can look at what God had planned & prepared in these above chapters! God had a new land, a promised land, for His people to dwell in...but in order to take full advantage of all the wonderful benefits & truly enjoy it, there had to be a take-away before the Israelites could totally plant themselves there and add the blessings. I remember thinking about this same concept in some of the past posts from previous years of reading these passages: cleaning & decluttering in order to start fresh & add new things! This is applicable both in our homes & in our hearts. As this Scripture states, the old things we let remain will basically come back to bite us in the end! Some old is good, but not if it's causing us to develop unhealthy habits & stunt our Spiritual growth! So, what's the big take-away from all this? Simply take away & then be open and ready to receive something special from God!
