The Bigger Picture

Bible Reading Today: Genesis 43-45

Genesis 45:8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

After all we've seen happen to Joseph, it's clear that he had a reason to hold a lot of anger against his brothers. He could have been plotting and waiting for the day to get revenge, or at the very least, call them out. The day finally came when his brothers were in need of food in the famine, and Joseph happened to be in charge of all the food storage in Egypt! This was that moment...but God had other plans! When Joseph finally revealed himself to his brothers after a testing period (seeing if the brothers had changed), Joseph exempted & forgave his brothers because God was the reason he was in Egypt-to be able to save Egypt and his family during the famine! Joseph saw the bigger picture. This was a divine position & plan from the start; it was something meant for a greater, God-given purpose! Joseph could have plotted & waited for a time of revenge, just like his brothers did to him, but he would have missed the point! The next time we face an unfair circumstance, let's pray & ask God: What is the bigger picture? What is my purpose in this problem? It could just lead to our next miracle!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
