The Blame Game
"37: Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
38: Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
39: Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
40: Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD." Lamentations 3:37-40.
It is easy to think that just because God is all-powerful and everywhere, that He is responsible for all the bad that happens to us. That's not the case! It's not that God is out of control, but He does allow our self-will to make decisions when we decide not to follow after God's perfect Will. In making those self-driven decisions, we face the consequences that come from not listening to God. We can't blame God, only ourselves! However, we CAN turn back to God for refuge!
"17: As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us." Lamentations 4:17.
It's not God Who causes evil. Again, He allows the consequences that come from not having faith & trusting in Him. We can't trust this world. We can't believe in false hope! Our nation cannot save us! Our nation needs to be saved by JESUS!!!
"16: The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!" Lamentations 5:16.
Let's not fall away from God's grace & glory! Let's instead realize we have sinned, and realize that a choice to pursue God's perfect Will is better than sinking into a depressive state where we blame God. We have the choice; God has the power!
"75: I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
76: Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant." Psalm 119:75-76.
