The Fear of Fear
Bible Reading 5/18: Psalms 26, 40, 58, 61-62, 64
Psalms 64:1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
When I read this verse, I automatically thought of the phrase, "There's nothing to fear but fear itself." And this Scripture confirms that while the whole chapter complements it! We do not need to fear the enemy, because many of these Psalms sing of God's mighty power which can defeat our enemies in an instant...but it's our choice to surrender our fear! As it states in this Scripture, we must ask God to protect us from the FEAR of the enemy, NOT the enemy itself! The thing we need to be protected from most is our own fear...then, when we fear & reverence God, we can conquer ANYTHING!
