The Fuel for the Job

Based on 1 Corinthians 11-13

We talked about doing The Lord's work-but what's the driving force behind it? How do we stay motivated to do the work and fulfill the roles we were meant to have? The fuel is the Spirit of God, given to us out of love!

"Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal." 1 Corinthians 12:4‭-‬7.

Not only is the Spirit essential to our work & walk with God, but to our SALVATION! This can't be emphasized enough, especially in the not-so-secure days we're living in. Moms: before we can do The Lord's work & live a fresh & thriving life, we ABSOLUTELY need that new birth experience:

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 2:38.

Once this takes place, we can refer to what Paul is talking about in the above Scripture of I Corinthians 12:4-7. It says the Spirit is given to u ALL to profit, so we all need it. THEN, there are different gifts, administrations & operations which take place. But remember, the Scripture always brings it back to a place of order. It's the same One True God over it all-and He is the One who fuels it by His Spirit!

"For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;" 1 Corinthians 12:8‭-‬9.

One Spirit (the Spirit of our One God), yet many different gifts to experience! How exciting is that! The Spirit is truly the fuel of The Lord's work, and everything works together in a cohesive way so that God's Kingdom can function properly. We have work to do, and roles to fill:

"For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God." 1 Corinthians 11:12.

1 Corinthians 11 talks about our covering as women. Our covering is our hair upon our head. We have a powerful role because we have a powerful covering upon us! Also, the men's covering is God, and they also help to protect us. Ladies, we should never be frustrated with the work we've been called to or the roles we've been called to fill! It's a blessing, and remember, His Spirit fuels it all! Both men & women receive the same Spirit! And in staying under authority, we have power!

"For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels."
1 Corinthians 11:10.

It's a good life living for The Lord! And again, it's all fueled by His Spirit, which is given out of love for us:

"And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."
1 Corinthians 13:13.

The greatest of these is charity, or love! In these trying times, don't be fueled by anger. Don't be fueled by stress. Also, don't be scared into doing nothing at all. Be fueled by God's Spirit! Be satisfied in knowing you're loved & cared for by God!
