The Greatest Defense

Based on 2 Chronicles 19-20, John 13:21-38

"O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee. And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children." 2 Chronicles 20:12‭-‬13

When we are in a desperate situation, or a dangerous situation, we definitely need to be on guard. While it's good to have some armor & defense against the enemy, we must make sure of one thing first: that we have a loving connection with God! This connection will give us favor in the fight...and sometimes, miraculously, we won't even have to fight at all! The Lord will take care of our problematic situations when we remember that the love of The Lord is our greatest defense! King Jehoshaphat called desperately out to God & knew He alone could conquer the enemy they faced...and God followed through!

"and he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not your's, but God's." 2 Chronicles 20:15

Although we are soldiers in God's Kingdom, defending His Word, the battle is ultimately not ours! If we forget Who we are fighting for, then we lose! It's not the enemy. It's not the problem. It's the fact that, amidst all our Spiritual armor & weaponry, we forgot that our God is the greatest defense! Again, loving Him allows for favor in the fight...whatever that fight might be!

"Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you." 2 Chronicles 20:17

Sometimes, God doesn't even want us to put up a fight! He just wants to be glorified and be able to manifest His power! Get ready, get set, stand & see the salvation of The Lord! And through all we face, we need to be sure we as well as others see His salvation. Experience His salvation & love in an eternal way!

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

John 13:34‭-‬35

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38

This great defense & commandment of love is shown most powerfully through God's plan of salvation in Acts 2:38! We can see the salvation of The Lord as someone is saved from all the battles and struggles they've been having. Surrounding to God's loving salvation is our greatest defense! Sometimes, we may have to fight. Other times, we may have to watch God do what only He can do. Either way, the battle is The Lord's, and loving Him is the win!
