The Greatest Goodness
Bible Reading 4/15: Psalms 7, 27, 31, 34, 52
Psalms 31:19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
I once talked to a friend of mine about the word "good" and how we use it to describe so many things...but even Jesus is careful in the Bible to reserve the word "good" for Himself as God, not attributing any glory to His flesh or earthly things! We have "good" days, conversations, occassions, meals, celebrations, etc...but the greatest goodness is our God! He truly is the definition of good, and He has the best plan for our lives, sharing some of that great goodness with us! Also, if we think we have a taste of that goodness now, just wait till we see Heaven! Next time we call something "good," let's just keep in mind that the greatest goodness belongs to God! "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God." Mark 10:18
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."
