The Greatness of Gentleness
Reading of the Day: 2 Samuel 22-24
2 Samuel 22:36: Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.
We sometimes seem to think that gentleness, softness and quietness do not always make an impact. In society today, those who say the most, are most bold with their words & are not afraid to offend people are sadly heard the most. Now while there is a place for boldness, there also needs to be wisdom with the way we speak...we can also look at Matthew 10:16: "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." The Lord did not simply create our mouths to be megaphones & noisemakers! We have so much more purpose than that! As David put it in the above Scripture, "...thy gentleness hath made me great." This is one of my absolute favorite Scriptures, and the chapter of 2 Samuel 22 is also a beautiful Psalm & song unto The Lord, spoken right from the heart of David. It's a song of God's deliverance, and how God is the one who will take care of our enemies. He then gives us the gift of gentleness, which is the ultimate form of greatness! God gives us the ability to take on His Christ-like characteristic of gentleness when we go through His salvation process! Then, we give Him the authority in our lives to deal with our enemies like only He can! Gentleness may not be the loudest voice, but it may just be the most effective weapon! Again, it's HIS gentleness that makes us great...I just love that. It says so much! We can then look on to 2 Samuel 23:4: "And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain." This does not paint a picture of aggression. Giving people what they deserve. Lashing out in a moment of rage & anger...this is a calming depiction of the peace of God, which shines like the sun & has the most gentle touch! The sun is not loud or heavy, but it is able to reach every one of us...and the same is true for gentleness! The same God Who fights our battles can also be the most gentle...and that's the very trait we must have as Christians! There is so much greatness in gentleness! It may not stir up excitement, but it will stir up the souls of the ones God knows need it most! Gentleness will make a great impact for God's glory!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
