The Noise, or the Voice?
Reading of the Day 4/14/25: 1 Kings 19-21
1 Kings 19:13: And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
We often wait on God for the big moments...those times where the manifestation of His presence is so strong, that we can't only feel Him, we can see Him. For example, the prophet Elijah was presented with a strong wind which could shatter mountains, earthquakes, and fire as well...but God was not wanting to be seen in those big, stand-out moments...He was wanting to be heard in a still, small voice. He asked Elijah, "What are you doing here?" which is a profound question, considering God knows exactly why we are where we are...so the question was more for Elijah. Elijah stated that Israel had betrayed God, thrown down the altars & killed all the prophets, and Elijah was afraid for his own life at that point. But God had a plan, and He still had a purpose for Elijah to fulfill! He had a way that Elijah could continue on & be protected from danger. We sometimes think it's going to take something huge to change our situation...but sometimes, all it takes is tuning out the noise, and listening to His still, small voice! We turn to "panic mode" when we don't see a big, obvious sign of what we should do...but if we quiet our hearts in the mighty presence of God and let Him speak to us, we will hear all we need! And it may not come word for word, but it may just be a peace that washes over us about a certain outcome...and we should then follow that peace! Peace mode over panic mode all day! Lol. Seriously though, God does big things, but we can't forget about the small things, because hearing His voice over all the noise is what God desires most! This means we have a strong relationship with Him! So in times of desperation, choose to settle down & listen for that voice instead of drowning it out with the noise!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
