The other side of "yes"

Based on Isaiah 62-64, 1 Timothy 1

"For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him." Isaiah 64:4

Sometimes, it's easier to deny, refuse, ignore, or just say no. But when we say no to God in this life & ignore His plan & perfect Will, we do not guarantee an eternal life with Him! Even if what we are called to do is hard, we have no idea what amazingness waits on the other side of just saying yes!

"But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand." Isaiah 64:8

God has formed us in the womb, but when we say yes to Him as we continue to grow & live our lives, He molds and shapes us even further! God's not done with us yet! All throughout our lives, God still has perfecting to do! We are not born perfect! But it's all wrapped up in saying yes to our Creator & Potter, Jesus Christ!

"And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 1:14

Exceedingness! Abundance! Faith! Love! So much is on the other side of yes...we need to remind ourselves of these Scriptures when we feel like giving up & walking away...something good may not be wrapped in the best wrapping paper, but when we say yes to opening it, it's much better than that thing which deceptively caught our eye! Let's keep our eyes on Jesus & say yes to Him!

"This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:" 1 Timothy 1:18‭-‬19

Like Timothy, we have been charged to war a good warfare & hold faith & a good conscience. When we forget what we're fighting for, and Who we are fighting for, and we lose faith, we are like shipwrecks! Our lives get messy, with clay flying off the wheel, and we become in desperate need for a miracle. We need our Potter to come in and put the pieces back in order, or rearrange them completely...let's be open & say yes to Jesus BEFORE the disaster strikes!
