The Peace of Release

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Deuteronomy 13-15, Mark 12:28-44

"At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release." Deuteronomy 15:1.

Holding onto things seems to keep us comfortable for a while...like if we were to let go, we would lose ourselves & become disoriented because we have detached ourselves from that thing. But what is "that thing" to us? How long have we been dealing with it? 7 years, more or less? No matter what it is or how long it's stuck around for, God gives peace in release!

"And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the Lord's release." Deuteronomy 15:2.

This release of God talked about in this chapter of Deuteronomy was like a pardon or debt forgiveness...everything owed was forgiven! Honestly, this time of COVID has been a similar time...much has been given out and forgiven financially...but how about Spiritually? Are we making sure our hearts match up with what's taking place in this time of release? Have we released, but don't have peace about it?

When we release our problems, our grudges, truly letting go & forgiving, we release ourselves! It's about the other person who wronged us. It's a release from the prison of unforgiveness. When I first heard that preached, I was amazed at the sense and Truth in that. God did not design us to carry grudges. He designed us to forgive & release! That's not to say things won't hurt us, but we control how long we hang onto the hurt!

"For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee." Deuteronomy 15:6.

When we release it all, it releases more of God in our lives! So much can happen when we put the pain aside! When God steps INSIDE, blessings flow forth OUTSIDE! The change in your outside circumstances starts with a release of past circumstances...and more of God!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
