The Rested Soul

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Psalms 116-118, 1 Corinthians 7:1-19

"Return unto thy rest, O my soul; For the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee."

Psalm 116:7

The Lord cares for & provides for us beyond measure! As we read the Scriptures during a sleepless, restless night, we can see a reassurance of how much God loves us! He will bring us back to a place of rest, not only physically at night, but rest for the soul even as we go through our daily life! It's one thing to experience the rejuvenation of our physical body, but a rejuvenation of the soul gives true rest, and not worry!

"This is the LORD 's doing; It is marvellous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:23‭-‬24

Everyday we can rejoice, because He has given us that rest along the way! We can look each new day in the face knowing that, with Jesus, we are well-equipped to handle it! As the Scripture states, THIS IS THE LORD'S DOING! All credit, glory & honor goes to Him! He will make sure we are physically, mentally, emotionally & Spiritually well-rested & calm in order to take on the days that lay ahead! But we must choose to study! To learn of His ways! To let the Scriptures grip our hearts! To pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17)!

"But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches."

1 Corinthians 7:17

Let us walk! Let us keep going! A well-rested soul in The Lord is able to continue on, regardless of circumstances...and that's because we always know where to run to find rest again! The Lord is not arrested or restrained in the amount of rest & restoration He can give! He is always our hiding place & safe refuge...kind of like tag when we were a kid, when you run onto glue and no one can get you (if no one changes the rules, that is!). But God never changes the rules! He will always be our rest & refreshing!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
