The Right Angle

Based on Numbers 23-25, Mark 7:14-37

Most of the time, things are coming at us from all sides. All angles. The problems don't wait in line to get our attention...they all shout at once! Instead of breaking down & being buried beneath it all, we need to get the right angle & right approach to the problems. Most importantly, we have to understand what happens when we have God on our side!

"And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all. But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the Lord speaketh, that I must do? And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence."
Numbers 23:25‭-‬27.

Balak continued to bring Balaam to several different locations surrounding the children of Israel to curse them. He tried many different angles. But instead of cursing, Balaam continued to bless Israel! He only spoke what The Lord put in his mouth, as we talked about last post...and that's because our own words & actions alone have the power to defile us! Our enemies honestly can't do anything to us when we are working for the one true King! We can curse ourselves, or we can be blessed by God...the choice is ours!

Unfortunately, in the next chapter of Numbers, Israel allowed the idolatrous influences of Moab & the Midianites to overpower them. They initiated it. They had the wrong angle & wrong approach to that temptation. Right after the blessing of Balaam, they allowed corruption & curse!

Do we have the right angle? Do we have the upper hand when problems & temptations arise from ALL angles?

With God's Mighty Hand upon us, we will ALWAYS have the upper Hand! We need to stay prayerful, watchful & aware of all influences in our lives. Is this a negative, or a positive to me??

"And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." Mark 7:20‭-‬23.

In the end, it all boils down to where our hearts are at...it doesn't matter what the enemy tries to do, or where we end up, as long as we keep a hold on God! For Paul, he praised in prison. For Stephen, forgiveness set him free, even in death. Sometimes, it may not look like victory, but with God we are winning! It may be true that things are coming at us from all angles, but how are we responding? Do we have the right angle? Or do we let corruption creep in because we have no fight left in us?

Let God speak to you, and in turn, speak life! Speak a good report! Blessing, not cursing!
