The Right Side of Judgment 

Based on 2 Chronicles 19-21

Jehoshaphat was a king in Judah who was in & out of God's favor. After making an alliance with king Ahab of Israel, who was very evil, he learned his lesson & learned to call on the The Lord. For a time he kept up his relationship with God, but at the end of his reign he made one last alliance with the new king of Israel, Ahaziah, and God stopped him in his tracks & destroyed the ships he built. All the kings of Judah & Israel had their ups & downs, but the highlight of their reigns was when they decided to stay on The Lord's side-the right side of judgment!

"Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon–tamar, which is En–gedi. And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord , and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord : even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord." 2 Chronicles 20:2‭-‬4.

With this reliance alliance, Judah avoided the wrath of God & being destroyed by their enemies! They didn't fight God, they joined Him...and God fought their battles! All they had to do was worship & praise!

"And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's." 2 Chronicles 20:15.

The battle is The Lord's anyway! No matter what you're up against, God is greater! Just praise Him in the storm, and stay in the boat! Stay on the right side of judgment, not left in His wrath!

"And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten." 2 Chronicles 20:22.

Not only does God give us life to live, but life more abundantly! In the death & judgment upon their enemies, God gave them even more than they could ask for...more than they could ever desire...their enemies gained riches in vain, so God allowed His people to retrieve them for His glory!

"And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much."
2 Chronicles 20:25.

So much can happen when we stay with God. Our everyday battles are so much easier when we step back & allow Him to step in!
