The Truth about Lies
Based on 2 Chronicles 28-29, John 17
When we know someone is lying to us, we feel a lot of anger building up which is hard to contain. It is something we don't want to accept. But when we hear someone being honest & truthful, we have a more peaceful reaction. This may seem like common sense, but there are many times we take part in lies when we don't even know it! The world is a beautiful place, but it can also be a dangerous place that we can get caught up in, sometimes without real-lie-zing it! The Truth about lies is that, if you hear something that doesn't line up with God's Word, DON'T BELIEVE IT! When we take part in those lies, our world is no longer peaceful because we walk off of our sure foundation-JESUS! Stay firm on The Word & find peace in your world!
"Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD, like David his father: for he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for Baalim."
"Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter." 2 Chronicles 28:1-2, 5
When we want to do what other people are doing, getting involved in things that could risk our physical, mental, emotional & Spiritual well-being, it's very similar to what king Ahaz did! He saw other nations worshipping other gods, but forgot the power of His God! There was no power in those idols; he believed a lie! And since he wasn't backed by God any longer, he risked his own life and the lives of those he ruled over. They became captives to the lie!
"Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us." 2 Chronicles 29:10
Thankfully, king Hezekiah turned Jerusalem around back to God. He repaired the temple according to God's Truth, and took out anything which represented a lie. There is so much peace in lining ourselves up with God's Word! We can be ready against anything that would try to point us in the wrong direction!
"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." John 17:17-21
When we commit to Truth, we commit our lives to Jesus, and our lives are protected from lies! We won't be carried away captive when we stay in The Truth. God's Word is there as a place of peace & safety; don't dismiss it! Without God's Word, we might get involved in something we don't realize is not good for us until it's too late, and we develop regrets...let's always check God's Word and see what He has to say!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
