The Uplift in the Uproar

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Isaiah 32-33, Colossians 1

"And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;" Isaiah 32:17‭-‬18

Chaos is caused by continuous conflict, contention & the "cons" instead of the "pros"...when division is the goal, there is no resolution...there's just "agree to disagree," and there isn't any unity. This is bound to eventually bring angry uproar for various reasons, but thankfully, God is the peace in the storm, and the Uplift in the uproar! When we want to live righteously instead of unrighteously, we have the work of peace & the effect of quietness & assurance forever! When we give up the goal of division for the goal of spreading the peace of God, we become calm, no matter how high the waves get!

"Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken." Isaiah 33:20

A quiet habitation. A sure place which never falls down. Sounds too good to be true, right? If you're looking in the ends of the earth, then yes, it's too good to be true...but if you're looking to The Word of God & praying, then that place can surely be found! This world has a lot of noise, but God's Word has a sweet melody about it which brings the uplift in the uproar!

"and, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven." Colossians 1:20

Instead of closing your ears to drown out the negativity, how about opening them up to Jesus! Seek Him. Listen for Him. He died so we could have new life through repentance, water baptism in Jesus' Name & receiving the Holy Ghost! He is alive & ready to be our Uplift in the uproar!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
