The Value of Love
Based on 1 Samuel 25-26, Luke 12:32-59
"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their Lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the Lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them."
Luke 12:34-37.
What does it mean to treasure something? Usually, we mean to value or cherish it in our hearts. We don't mean that we are trying to put a price on something...in fact, the things we treasure are usually priceless-especially love! Since God is love as it says in 1 John 4:8, He should be our biggest Treasure...as the Scripture says, our heart is where our treasure is! And when our hearts are ready, waiting & watching for The Lord, He is there for us! That loving bond with Jesus is the TRUE Treasure, truly priceless!
David's heart was in God's treasure box. He valued the supernatural over the natural. He respected those God put in authority over him. One day, this investment bore much fruit! God sent Abigail to David before David could kill Nabal, her husband. Nabal disrespected David, and David was about to murder him. But Abigail, a faithful servant who understood the value of her loving commitment to her husband, but also understood the treasure of God and His anointed, came in the way to stop the act from taking place!
"Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb." 1 Samuel 25:3.
It is literally stated that she had good understanding! And although she wasn't receiving much love back home, she understood the value of it...and because of her humble and courageous act to protect a man unworthy of sparing, God ended up allowing Nabal to die and she became David's wife!
"And it shall come to pass, when the LORD shall have done to my Lord according to all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have appointed thee ruler over Israel; that this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my Lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my Lord hath avenged himself: but when the LORD shall have dealt well with my Lord, then remember thine handmaid." 1 Samuel 25:30-31.
Even before The Lord smote Nabal, Abigail knew he probably had it coming...so in the end, her act of stopping David from killing her husband was actually sparing David from a bad reputation, not favoring Nabal! This was an act of love only God could orchestrate! The love of God brought them together in a love greater than she had known all her life!
Seems like a puzzle, right? I know! Just thinking about how much God loves us enough to piece this all together amazes me! The love of God is greater than anything else. Greater than any counselor or life coach. Let God be the One to sort it all out! He IS Love, so He understands what you're feeling & going through more than anyone else!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
