The Vine & the Branches

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Psalms 79-80, Romans 11:1-18

"Turn us again, O God of hosts, And cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: Thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it." Psalm 80:7‭-‬8

Jesus IS the Vine! He is strong, sure & secure...rooted & completely invested in His people...but what tree are we branches of? Have we connected ourselves to the tree of the knowledge of good & evil, with sin as the root, or have we pursued a connection to the true, pure vine of Jesus Christ?

"Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: Look down from heaven, And behold, and visit this vine; And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, And the branch that thou madest strong for thyself."

Psalm 80:14‭-‬15

If we have gone through repentance, water baptism in Jesus' Name & received the Holy Ghost, we have been grafted into the true tree, the true Vine! When we are connected, and keeping that connection strong through prayer & His Word, He WILL visit us in our time of need! He WILL be with us! We never have to worry about that!

"I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin." Romans 11:1

Through Jesus, our Vine, we are connected to the roots of old! We are connected to Abraham & the prayers he prayed. We are connected to a journey which keeps us on the true path, seeing the past fulfilled behind us & the future of eternity bright in front of us! The Vine was brought out of Egypt, went to Calvary & comes to us RIGHT NOW!

"For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches." Romans 11:16

When we are connected to Jesus, we are connected to holiness...our lives change...we hunger & thirst for Spiritual sustenance when we connect ourselves to His Vine & tree, not the tree with sinful roots...we must be like Jesus & branch out to others, inviting them to connect with the Vine!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
