Too Big a Job
Based on Deuteronomy 7-9, Mark 11:19-33
"There must have been a mistake...this task/job/problem was definitely not meant for me!" Said all of us at some point or another. I do believe in the saying that God doesn't give us more than we can handle...but if we don't turn to God to help solve our problems or complete a job, then I believe it WILL be too big & we won't be able to handle it! That's because God wants us to realize that when we have a big job to be done, we need a big God! The ONLY GOD, JESUS CHRIST!
"Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven, A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak! Understand therefore this day, that the Lord thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the Lord hath said unto thee."
Deuteronomy 9:1-3.
We just have to face these things head-on. They are what they are, but God is who He is!! These giant problems are no match for our giant God! But the question is, will we turn to Him in times of trouble? Also, when we do, will we forget Him after the victory?
"Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;" Deuteronomy 8:11-14.
Sadly, when there are no problems in our lives, we start to attribute the success to ourselves and think we no longer need God...but remember, our low valley experiences & our mountain-top experiences are all times we need to see God at work in our lives! We need to see Him high & lifted up in our good times & seek Him in our problematic times. We can't stop obeying, loving & serving God the minute we make it! We need to remember where we came from with God, where we are, and ultimately Heaven which is our goal!
"And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." Mark 11:22-23.
Some mountains, we were meant to climb. Some, we were meant to remove...but BOTH scenarios need God's help! We can do any job with Jesus...but if it's something like a disease or addiction, that's a mountain that needs to be removed! Don't stop at the mountain. Keep going! Don't stop following Jesus after the victory. KEEP GOING!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
