Turn a Mess into a Miracle
Based on Joshua 10-12
Not sure what it must have been like to fight as many battles as Joshua...so much blood, but so many victories! We may not face as many bloody battles as Joshua, but that doesn't mean our lives aren't messy. That doesn't mean there aren't challenges we face every day. As we've seen throughout our readings, it is possible through our challenges to have a lifestyle of victory! God wants to turn our masses into miracles!
"And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Beth–horon, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword."
Joshua 10:11
Take a look at that! Since Joshua & the Israelites were determined to defeat their enemies, and obeyed The Lord, He fought their battle for them! The hailstones which were sent did most of the work. And most of all, those people were able to see the power of God! God was in control of the situation, it wasn't about man's strength. It lived on so we could read about it today-so that our masses could be turned into miracles which glorify God!
"And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel."
Joshua 10:13-14
THE SUN ACTUALLY STOOD STILL! This was the only time God did a miracle quite like this, but that doesn't mean there aren't special miracles ahead of us too! At this moment in time, we might be able to relate to this. It seems like life is at a halt & time is standing still...God is giving us some more focused time to defeat the things in our lives which are corrupting us and bringing us down. Let's use this time wisely!
"And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day."
Joshua 10:27
Some of the enemy kings of God's people ran & hid in a cave, but Joshua & his men found them, defeated them, and that same cave became their tomb! God will use what the enemy means for evil for the good of his people...we just need to stand firmly on The Lord's side and not waver!
"And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the Lord commanded."
Joshua 11:12
Joshua was still following God as Moses would have done it! Although Moses died, the promised lived on & Joshua had respect for his former leader in authority! Moses' commitment lived on through Joshua! Is our commitment to God strong enough to live on beyond our generation?
"So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war."
Joshua 11:23
Finally, the land rested from war. When we make it a point to fight to win, we too will have our time of rest. But again, let's use this time of isolation to win some real battles for The Lord! While we can rest a little more than usual, there's still a lot we can do for God's Kingdom!
"Now these are the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east:"
Joshua 12:1
Joshua 12 lists all the kings which were defeated by Joshua and his men. So many victories, so many miracles! God is able to take the mess of battle and make something beautiful & miraculous out of it! Don't be discouraged! Be strong & of a good courage! God has something great in store!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
