Understanding God
Reading of the Day: Job 24-26
Job 26:14: Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
I apologize for the long delay! I love being able to reflect & dwell on The Word of God with you, so to those who are reading, thank you for your patience! The Lord has truly been dealing with me about consistency...but at the same time, I am thankful that He is an understanding God! And what I mean by understanding is that He mercifully understands us (since He created us!), while we don't necessarily always understand Him. His ways are higher than our ways: Isaiah 55:8-9: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Today's reading comes from Job, although as we go forward I will be adding in some catch-up readings from previous books of the Bible in order to stay on track to finish the Bible through this year! I hope you'll continue to join me on this journey! In reflecting on Job, he is someone that anyone who has a problem can relate to...I think that makes all of us! In these chapters, Job is going back & forth with his friends about why Job is suffering the things he is suffering. Job lost everything, and God gave permission to the devil for Job to be tested in such a way because, out of everyone, The Lord knew he was a strong man of God. In this chapter, Job lists out many great wonders of God & says, these are only part of his ways! Meaning, there is still so much we don't know! The thunder of His power, who can understand!? While his friends tried to give an answer & explanation to Job, Job is telling them it's not possible for us to know exactly why God does what He does...but it IS possible to understand that we have an understanding God! One who loves us, is patient with us & has mercy on our flawed, fleshly, human nature. We don't have to fully understand the seasons we are going through...we are just called to trust! There is no way to fully understand the magnitude of God's ways...or worry over why we are going through certain things...as long as we strive to learn, stay humble & lean upon God for peace in the process, we will get through it (even if we still have a lot of questions & unknowns!). Understanding God is knowing that He is loving & understanding toward us. We may be tested because, like Job, God knows in times of trouble we run to Him! Or, He may be teaching us to lean upon Him a little bit more. So, instead of asking "why?" let's just say "yes." Yes, this is my season. Yes, it is a struggle. But yes Lord, I trust in You!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle
Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
