Wait on The Lord
Based on Jeremiah 13-15
"22: Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things." Jeremiah 14:22.
One of the most difficult things is knowing when to act. Knowing what the right choice is when many options are presented to you. As this Scripture says, we will wait upon God. He has made all things anyway! He knows all things, all situations, and so He knows what's best for our lives.
"18: Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, even the crown of your glory." Jeremiah 13:18.
Even in the highest of places, it's important to wait on The Lord! In fact, especially in the highest of places! Think about what a great nation we would have if only every person and law were based in Truth! Especially those who make crucial decisions for our country!
When we wait on The Lord, we can expect stability & contentment to follow because God has the answer. It means we don't have to worry. Waiting on God means expecting, not worrying!
"From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I." Psalms 61:2.
I can testify to this Scripture! A lot of the time, especially recently, I find myself crying out to God about the best route to take. Being a Mom seems to come with a whole lot of "wondering if you're doing the right thing" and "overwhelming emotions." I constantly have to remind myself to listen to God's direction, and also to wait on The Lord when direction isn't given yet.
"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord." Psalms 27:14.
"16: Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts." Jeremiah 15:16.
We are called by Him! In our time of waiting, we can consume His Word through reading it & applying it to our lives. We can have joy & confidence in what's to come!
