Waiting on Tomorrow

Gina Pietrzak

Based on James 4-5, Proverbs 12

Does tomorrow ever come? Or is it just another opportunity to say "today's the day"? The phrase, "You never know what tomorrow will bring" has never been more true than it is right now. Things are so uncertain! There really is no time to waste (or wait) to get things right with God. We can't wait on tomorrow!

"Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that." James 4:13‭-‬15.

Earthly life is a vapour. It's temporary. Compared to eternity, it's just a minuscule piece of our existence...so let's not allow it to be our only existence! We need to focus on God, His Will, and His timing in this life so that we have a full life in eternity to look forward to!

"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." James 4:17.

Let's do good while we have time to do it! When presented the opportunity, let's not let it pass us by! When we allow God to direct our steps and use us to our full potential for good, there is no chance of sin leading us down an eternal path to destruction. We just need that Acts 2:38 plan of salvation as the first step to a life headed to Heaven:

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 2:38.

1. Repentance

2. Water Baptism in Jesus' Name (full immersion)

3. Receiving the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in new tongues

...And then a holy, set-apart life follows...all the way to eternity! Doesn't get much better than that! A simple way to secure tomorrow! We just have to make the effort to keep living this good life of The Lord!

"Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy."
James 5:11.

We have seen the end of The Lord! As He says in Jeremiah, He gives us an expected end! We can't predict what the world will throw at us next-but we can look forward to the promises of God when we commit to Him! God's Word is good. His life is good. He holds tomorrow!

"Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad."
Proverbs 12:25.

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
