Bible Reading 8/17: Jeremiah 35-37
Then Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city were spent. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison. Jeremiah 37:21
One thing you could say about Jeremiah is that he made it. He did some pretty bold things to get the point across to God's people to turn back to Him, and God allowed Jeremiah to remain through it all...but he didn't only make it physically. It's because of an inner strength, a heart reliant upon God, that he truly remained! God saw him through because he sought God! If we want to remain, be secure, stand strong & not be shaken with the world's craziness, we need to hang onto God like Jeremiah did! Even in prison, he was cared for. In whatever situation we find ourselves in, we are going to make it if we trust God! We shall remain!
