What's your instrument?
Based on Psalms 148-150, 1 Corinthians 15:29-58
Many of these Psalms are about praising The Lord, and last post was all about the importance of that atmosphere of praise! Creation praises, and so will we! But in reading these chapters, there are so many instruments of praise...so which one do we choose?
"Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: Praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: Praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: Praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD." Psalm 150:3-6
There are so many instruments, including dancing in the presence of The Lord, and using all our breath to sing to Him! We don't have to be good musicians to praise The Lord! It really seems like God wants us to use whatever we have, all of our skills, to praise Him! In our daily lives, we can praise The Lord by living according to His Word. By sharing His Word with others. By doing good & showing the love of God! In everything we do, we can give Him honor & glory! We can still sing & worship, of course, no matter what skills we have...but it's so great to know we can honor Him in many other ways! God wants us to dedicate our lives, not just beautiful singing voices!
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58
Our labor is not in vain! Our "sound" might be different than someone us, but that's because we are using different instruments! But if our intention is to praise The Lord, He hears us! Each one of us can abound in the work of The Lord without comparing ourselves to others! All we really have to do is compare ourselves to His Word to know if what we are doing is really glorifying Him! So...what's your instrument? How do you give Him daily praise?

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
