What's your mountain?
Bible Reading Today: Zechariah 1-7
Zechariah 4:7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
"What's your problem?" is a common question, but it can be translated Biblically to, "What's your mountain?" Problems feel a lot like mountains. One thing after another. Piled up in front of us. Starting with one, then another, then another. Soon, our pile of problems becomes our problem. And we just accept that life itself IS a problem. But the plus-side of looking at it like a mountain is that, it's one whole structure. Able to climb. Able to be overcome. A type of adventure. Maybe even thrilling and excting at times...because you know that there's a peak! Even more though, we know that a mountain doesn't measure up to God! Even at the peak of the mountain, you can still look up to the Heavens. No problem is too bad and no victory is too great to compare to what eternity with Jesus will be like! So next time you face something with fear, face it with faith, and say, "Who art thou, O great mountain?"
