What We Need To Hear

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Jeremiah 26-27, Psalm 115

The easiest things aren't always the best things for us, even though they may be the most comfortable. The Truth of God's Word doesn't always settle well with people, because it doesn't blend with mainstream thoughts. If it does blend in with society, and doesn't stand out, it's probably not the full Truth...

"9: Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD." Jeremiah 26:9.

Jeremiah continuously let Judah & Jerusalem know that false prophets were among them. These prophets spoke gently to them & peacefully, as if everything was going to be ok if they resisted Babylonian control. However, God wanted them to humble themselves & go with Babylon as captives. The ones who did not resist would one day return. God didn't want them to resist Babylon just like He didn't want them to resist Him...

The Truth is not "the easiest pill to swallow" as they say. It's not what our flesh wants, but it's what our soul needs. Honestly, you know it's the Truth when it stands out & shines above everything else! God designed His Word as a light, not something to fade to darkness. He IS Light! He IS His Word! He alone can change this world!

"12: Then spake Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.
13: Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
14: As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you." Jeremiah 26:12-14.

Jeremiah wasn't comfortable, but he was confident in God! Knowing the Truth set Him free from the fear of man!

"9: Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:
10: For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish." Jeremiah 27:9-10.

Don't listen to the liars! If there was going to be a robber that was going to break in my house, I'd want to know about it! I wouldn't like it, but I'd be ready for it. There are lots of things we have to be ready for. There are lots if things we have to say no to because of our stance in the Truth which truly stands out. But remember, only in Jesus do we find hope, salvation & eternal life! We become lights to others out of this world! As YouTube Mom Angela Braniff said, "Hard isn't always bad, and easy isn't always good." Live the Truth! Tell the Truth! Follow Jesus ALL THE WAY!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
