WHEN EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE GOING WRONG.
"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." Psalm 27:14. There are certain seasons of life where I feel like I experience a pattern of downfalls. To be honest, I am kind of going through that right now. There are so many things bugging me, and so even the good things which are dispersed here and there don't cheer me up much. While those are nice, I feel like it's just the calm before the next storm.
I just don't get it. I don't expect perfection, but I certainly didn't expect this. In regards to my last post, I know what you're thinking. I am just not appreciating what the "lemons" in my life are trying to teach me. BUT WHY SO MANY LEMONS...!!!???
Sorry for the rant, because I know God has reasons. This season is affecting more things than it should...my consistency, my openness, my sanity, just to name a few. But I can't think of all this without thinking about Job...
"In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." Job 1:22
Job lost it all, and all his lemons came at once too (although he had it so much worse!). After it was all said and done, even though Job did not sin and knew God was up to something, he still had his moments of doubt (just like John the Baptist, sitting in jail, wondering if Jesus was really the sent Savior!). So out of this literal whirlwind that was Job's life, God spoke to him:
"Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me." Job 38:1-3.
God pretty much said, "Man-up Job!" And God went on to ask Job a series of questions about the miracle of the world's beginning. Job didn't see the creation of the world. Job wasn't there. Job wasn't in control. GOD WAS. If God is in control of the matters we can't see, then God is also in control of the things that are right in front of our faces. Just because we can see the problems and feel the impact of the problems doesn't mean God is not going to help us!
Look what happened when Job started to pray for his friends (who were not much help to him not long before this):
"And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before." Job 42:10.
God doesn't just restore. He gives more! He is in control. I'm not sure how long this season is going to last, but during another study at another time God taught me that perspective is also everything. Maybe that lesson was for the now? Either way, I pray I'll revert back to these reminders instead of remaining in the rut. My intention is not to stay here, and I know that waiting on The Lord is the greatest thing I can do. I hope I've helped you too. God bless!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle
Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
